NRA REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM® 

Short Description:

The Refuse To Be A Victim®program is not a firearms or self-defense class. It is a seminar that will help you improve your personal safety strategies and will provide you with valuable information that you can apply in every area of your life.

One of the most important steps toward ensuring your own safety is having a personal safety strategy in place before you need it. NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim® program teaches the tips and techniques you need to be alerted to dangerous situations and to avoid criminal confrontation. 

NRA Basics Of Pistol Shooting

Short Description:

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.

More Details:

Instructor Led Only Training: The Instructor Led Only takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction.Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course

Short Description: This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.

More Details: This course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

NRA Women On Target Clinic

Short Description: If you’re curious about firearms, whether for personal defense or to learn a new sport, Women On Target® is the perfect place to start. These instructional shooting clinics for women teach firearm safety and marksmanship fundamentals, giving you the confidence you need to operate a firearm.

Women On Target® clinics offer hands-on, one-on-one instruction in a friendly and safe environment. Whether you are picking up a gun for the first time, refreshing your skills, or are an experienced shooter enjoying the day with friends, these half- or full-day clinics are for you.

No experience or equipment is necessary to participate in Women On Target®.

More Details: Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinics are not traditional firearms classes. They are hands-on, half- or full-day events designed to introduce women to firearms and shooting sports in a safe and friendly environment.

Clinics may feature pistol, rifle, shotgun – or even all three. You will learn safe handling, range safety, firearm basics, marksmanship fundamentals, and much more. On the range, you will work one-on-one with an instructor to gain confidence and master new skills.

The Women on Target® experience is unique in the shooting community. Thousands of women attend every year to try something new and meet like-minded women interested in shooting sports.

Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinics have no barriers to entry. No prior experience or equipment is needed to participate.
